How to Properly Affix and Use Safety Labels

I. Basic Affixing Standards

1. Location Requirements: Affix labels to a prominent and easily visible location on the packaging/area, at eye level (1.5-2.0 meters), with no obstructions in front. For barrels and bottles, affix to the side; for boxes, affix to the end/side; for bags and bundles, affix to a prominent location.

2. Arrangement Rules: When multiple labels coexist, arrange them in the order of warning, prohibition, instruction, and reminder, from left to right and from top to bottom. Hazardous chemical labels should be placed first.

3. Fixing Requirements: Use waterproof and durable adhesive materials to ensure they do not fall off or become damaged during transportation and storage.

II. Key Points for Categorized Use

1. Hazardous Chemical Labels: Affixed by the manufacturer before leaving the factory. Re-application is required when repackaging. Labels must not be removed until the container is completely free of hazard. Labels should not be replaced every 5 years. 2. Laboratory Area Labeling: Different functional areas should be labeled accordingly. For example, the sample area should have "No Entry" and "Caution: Corrosion" signs, while the gas cylinder area should have "No Smoking" and "Caution: Leakage" signs.

3. Dual Hazardous Goods Labeling: Both GHS safety labels and transport labels should be affixed. They can be affixed to different sides. If the pictograms are duplicated, the corresponding duplicate pattern in the GHS should be removed.

III. Subsequent Maintenance: Regularly check labels for damage or fading and replace them promptly. When the layout or processes change, adjust the label positions accordingly to ensure the warning information remains effective.
