How to determine if a safety label has faded?

1. Visually inspect key color gamut: Under natural light or standard light source, focus on observing the label's red border, pictographic symbols, and signal words ("Danger" or "Warning") for the following:

The color has faded, turned white, or yellowed;
The graphics are blurry or the boundaries are unclear;
There is a significant color difference compared to the original or new label.

If the red border turns pink or orange, or the black symbol turns gray, it is considered faded.

2. Compare with standard color charts: Use the company's archived standard color chart or the safety color standard specified in GB 2894-2025 to compare the label color with the naked eye or a colorimeter. If the label color deviates significantly from the standard color (e.g., red is more orange, black is gray), it is considered non-compliant.

3. Assess based on environment and usage time: Labels exposed to direct sunlight, high temperature, high humidity, or chemical vapors for extended periods should be carefully checked for fading risk, even if there is no obvious damage to the appearance. It is recommended to conduct special inspections every quarter, especially on labels on outdoor equipment and containers near workshop windows.
