How to determine if a safety label has undergone aging testing?

1. Check the test items in the testing report. A proper aging test report will clearly list the following key items:

UV Aging Test: Simulates sunlight exposure to assess whether the label fades, yellows, or becomes brittle;

High Temperature and Humidity Test: Tests for adhesive layer failure and material deformation in environments such as 85℃/85%RH for more than 72 hours;

Temperature Cycling Test: Multiple cycles between -40℃ and +85℃ to verify crack resistance and interlayer stability;

Salt Spray Test: For corrosive environments, tests for rust and peeling of metal parts or coatings.

If any of the above items are missing from the report, the aging test has not been completed.

2. Confirm Testing Standards and Implementing Organizations
Qualified aging tests should be conducted according to national or international standards. Common standards include:

GB/T 2423 series (Environmental Testing for Electrical and Electronic Products);

IEC 60068-2 (General Standard for Environmental Testing);

ASTM G154 (Ultraviolet Aging Test);

ISO 16750 (Environmental Conditions for Electronic Equipment in Road Vehicles).

The report should be issued by a third-party testing organization and bear the CMA or CNAS certification mark to ensure the impartiality and credibility of the results.

3. Observe the Aging Marks and Performance Retention of the Label
Even without a report, the following phenomena can be used to preliminarily determine whether the label has anti-aging capabilities:

Color Stability: No obvious fading, chalking, or yellowing after long-term exposure;

Structural Integrity: No cracking, blistering, delamination, or edge lifting;

Information Readability: Pictograms and text remain clear, and QR codes can be scanned normally;

Adhesion Strength: No peeling when lightly scratched at the edges, and the adhesive does not become sticky or brittle.

If the label remains in the above condition after several months of use outdoors or in a high-temperature workshop, it has most likely passed the aging test.
